Join us for a free MATES in Construction General Awareness Training session focused on suicide awareness, prevention, and creating a stronger culture of support within our industry.
The construction sector continues to face one of the highest suicide rates in New Zealand, with nearly one person lost every week, the vast majority being men. MATES in Construction is working to change this through education, connection, and practical support.
This training helps participants recognise when a workmate may be struggling, understand how to start a conversation, and learn what support and resources are available. The programme encourages a workplace culture where looking out for one another becomes part of everyday life, both on-site and beyond the workplace.
Delivered by trained MATES Field Officers with construction industry experience, the session provides practical tools, real conversations, and access to nationwide support networks for workers, families, friends, and communities.
This is a valuable opportunity for all staff within your company to attend and is completely free of charge.
